Walking Tour-Robertson Court -Walking Tour
(Entrance On East Side of Main Street)

This Main street entrance to Robertson Court was previously the site of the home which was moved to its current location at 10 Robertson Court.

In 1872, the property of Dr. Charles Gray Robertson, the houses on either side of what is now Robertson Court, & the land north to Clarkston - Orion Rd. belonged to J. R. Vliet. The footprint of Vliet's house, now 116 N. Main, is also on the 1872 map.

The 1896 map shows the property of Dr. Charles Gray Robertson who by then owned most of Vliet's property. The strip between George Vliet to the south & Edwin Jefferson to the north is where Dr. Robertson built his house. (1904 tax entry: C. G. Robertson, estate, north by Nettie Reese & the highway, east by Park Lake & J. Stoddard, south by J. Reese & the Union School, west by Joseph & Mrs. Nettie Reese, assessed value $1200.) (Dr. Robertson died in 1907.) The main section of the house was moved to 10 Robertson Ct. (See photo, page 69, Heritage). The kitchen wing was moved to 16 Clarkston-Orion Rd. forming the core of the house on that site. The original site of Robertson's house became Robertson Court, the entrance to the rest of his land which was subdivided as the Park Lake Subdivision.
